We are the Church | Apostle’s Creed (Part 4)

About This Message

Speaker: David Reneau

Summary:
Mr. Rogers once famously said that whenever disaster strikes, to "look for the helpers." In wars, natural disasters, and personal tragedies, the helpers are always there. But as the Church, are we called to be more than just people who send "thoughts and prayers"?   In part four of our series on the Apostle’s Creed, Pastor David Reneau explores God’s purpose for “the Church.” We move past the idea of church as a building or a social club and dive into what it means to be "Living Stones." Learn how to stop just attending a service and start being the Church.

 In this message, we discuss:

  • The true meaning of a "holy catholic church."

  • The paradox of being a "Living Stone" in God's spiritual house.

  • Why Jesus is the Cornerstone and you are the Building Stones.

  • The 4 practical markers of a follower of Jesus.

  • Why Jesus saved us from something, but also saved us for something.

Scripture References:

  • 1 Peter 2:4-9

  • Ephesians 4:17-29

  • Ephesians 5:1-2
